Alocasia ‘Emerald Tide’, also known as ‘Frydek Tattoo’, is a distinctive mutation of Alocasia micholitziana ‘Green Velvet’. Its deep emerald leaves feature prominent veins, strongly rippled edges, and an uneven, raised surface that gives the foliage a sculpted appearance.
One of its most intriguing details is hidden beneath the leaves. Irregular patches of pigmentation appear between the veins, creating markings reminiscent of tattoos. Together with its ruffled margins and textured foliage, these patterns give ‘Emerald Tide’ its distinctive character. Source: Aroidpedia
With its relatively compact, upright habit, this plant grows best in bright, indirect light and warm, stable conditions with ample humidity. Keep the potting mix evenly moist without letting it become waterlogged. Adding perlite can improve drainage and aeration, and watering should be reduced when growth slows. These care recommendations follow those for its parent species, Alocasia micholitziana. Care guidance: RHS
